Emerald Group’s Sail debuts at the 2nd Stage of Cyprus National Sailing Championship & is getting ready for the next race!

The beautiful sail of Emerald Group graced the waters during the 2nd stage of the Cyprus National Sailing Championship between 12-13 September 2020 aboard Freedom Finance Sailing Team’s boat, ‘SVETLANA’.
Freedom Finance Sailing Team (the racing team which Emerald Group’s CEO, Roksoliana K. Melnyk is a member of) came in 2nd place in two of the three short races and 4th place in a 4+ hour long race (view detailed results of the race here).
“What a great experience! Every race is unique and gives us the opportunity to challenge ourselves and work in even greater harmony as a team and a unified body. This race taught us the importance of strategy and awareness of the wind. When the sails catch the wind at the perfect angle and you feel the boat sail exactly as it should – it is truly a feeling like no other. Seeing the fruit of all our hard work, practice and lessons coming together and allowing us to reach 2nd and 4th positions in such a short time gives us motivation and strengthens our belief in reaching champion status in the near future!” – Roksoliana K. In getting ready for the next race organized by the “Cyprus Shipping Chamber” in cooperation with St. Raphael Yacht Club on the 25th of October 2020, members of the Freedom Finance Sailing Team had the privilege of being coached by Aviram Swissa of North Sails Cyprus and Israel on how to properly trim the sails. With Aviram’s expertise and coaching and with properly trimmed sails, the Team is looking to have even better results in the next race!
