A Passion for Sailing

They say that those who sail for the first time - are changed forever.  Although growing up surrounded by lakes and boats in Canada and by the sea in Cyprus, Emerald Group's CEO, Roksoliana Melnyk experienced the truth of this quote personally when she was invited on her first long-distance sailing trip in 2010 from Cyprus to Israel.

Ever since, Sailing became a true passion.  She not only pursued a course for attaining a professional Skippers license but also joined a local Sailing Racing Team and has since competed in a number of races.  

The values and strategies for sailing and racing are so closely alligned to those of Emerald Group and the way the company conducts its business that eventually, Roksoliana starated participating and contributing to the Sailing Community professionally.  In 2019, Emerald Group sponsored the 9th Cyprus-Israel Regatta, joining forces with likeminded individuals and business owners who are passionate about the sport.

In view of the company's 20th Anniversary in September 2020, the company sponsored a sail for a local sailing team, Freedom Finance (one of which Roksoliana is an active crew member of).  It was a moving moment to see a big sail, with the Emerald Group logo spread across, gracing a beautiful X-49 X-Yacht.  This was truly the mark of a new and inspired vision for "setting sail" to the next years of the company. 

Emerald would like to thank the team at North Sails Cyprus & Israel, namely Easy and Aviram Swissa for producing such a high quality sail in a short period, just in time for the company's 20-year anniversary! 

For Emerald Group, this is just the beginning of its allegiance and involvement in the global Sailing Community.
